Pepperoni Pizza Grilled Cheese

Ingredients:

8 slices of bread (white, whole wheat, or Italian)

Butter, for spreading

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup pizza sauce

24 slices of pepperoni

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon dried oregano

1/4 teaspoon dried basil

Optional: A pinch of red pepper flakes for extra heat

Instructions:

Prepare the Skillet:

Heat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.

Butter the Bread:

Generously butter one side of each bread slice.

Assemble the Sandwiches:

Place four slices, buttered side down, on your work surface.

Spread the pizza sauce on the top side of these slices.

Evenly distribute the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses over the sauce.

Add six slices of pepperoni to each.

Season with garlic powder, oregano, basil, and optional red pepper flakes.

Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.

Cook:

Transfer the sandwiches to the heated skillet.

Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted.

Serve:

Remove from the skillet and let sit for a minute before slicing.

Serve warm, optionally with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
