This Cajun Shrimp and Steak recipe brings together the bold flavors of Cajun seasoning with succulent shrimp and tender steak. It’s perfect for a special dinner or a fun weeknight meal.
Ingredients:
For the Steak:
2 ribeye steaks or New York strip steaks
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and black pepper, to taste
For the Shrimp:
1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
For the Sauce:
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
Prepare Steak:
Rub the steaks with Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Let them sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.
Cook Steak:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the steaks for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest.
Prepare Shrimp:
While the steaks are resting, season the shrimp with Cajun seasoning.
Cook Shrimp:
In the same skillet, add olive oil and minced garlic. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Add the shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
Make Sauce:
In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the heavy cream, chicken broth, and Cajun seasoning. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce is creamy.
Combine and Serve:
Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, stirring to coat with the sauce. Slice the rested steaks and serve them alongside the Cajun shrimp. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
